How can we help?

FAQ

Professional Organising

What is a Professional Organiser (PO)?

A Professional Organiser (PO) will help you organise your home, life, time, and
workplace. A PO is an expert in clearing clutter, creating systems that work, and
teaching you how to maintain your spaces. Each Organiser is unique, bringing a
special set of skills and life experience to the task.

How will a Professional Organiser actually help me?

A Professional Organiser is your best friend, personal trainer, cheerleader, and
therapist all rolled into one. A PO will get you through the tough decisions you
need to make on what is important to you, and what stuff you no longer need. They
will guide you through the process, offering expert and objective advice. They will
work with you towards achieving the goals you have for your space.

Can Anita come to my home personally to help me organise and declutter?

As much as Anita would love to work hands-on in every home, that’s not always
possible. However, Anita has a small team of highly experienced, talented professional organisers who work under the Mise en Place brand. It is one of these organisers who would come to your home for an onsite
session.

I know my home needs major help but I don’t know where to start. Where do you suggest I start?

The best starting point is a 90-minute virtual consultation with Anita that is
focussed on transforming and organising your space. During the consultation, we
will collaborate with you to plan out your project by addressing problem areas and
discussing your goals, expectations, and budget. The process includes creating a
detailed project timeline to ensure everything stays on track. Key aspects covered
during the consultation are:

1. Planning and preparing the project timeline.
2. Setting clear goals and expectations.
3. Evaluating the existing space in your home.
4. Providing tailored product research and guidance.
5. Creating personalised shopping lists.
6. Simplifying spaces and implementing fail-safe systems.
7. Planning the layout to maximise the use of your area.

We will guide you through each step, making the journey to a beautifully
organised home easier, accessible, and more effective!

Do I have to be at present for an onsite session?

If we are organising an area in your home and there is no decluttering required
then no, there is no need for you to remain at home. If decluttering is necessary,
then we absolutely need you to stay to assist us with that decision making.

Can I use storage solutions I already have or can Anita source new storage products?

Yes, and yes! Utilising what you already have is great. If you don’t have great
storage, or want matching pantry containers or linen cupboard baskets, then
Anita can suggest items from most major retailers whether in shop or online that
will fit your spaces perfectly. During the initial consult Anita will take
measurements of all the relevant areas that need new storage solutions and
customise a list especially for you.

Can Anita assemble furniture and put together storage solutions?

For the most part, yes! Anita is very comfortable with tools, but her time is better
spent doing the organising and decluttering work! She can organise for a
professional handyman to assemble large furniture items and quotes are based
on a per project basis.

Can Anita shop for me?

Absolutely! Anita can shop for all the products you need and have them delivered
straight to your home or she can bring them with her on the day. Alternatively, a shopping list
with direct links can be emailed to you and you can do the shopping yourself.
Shopping time is charged at the same hourly rate as an onsite session hourly rate.

Does Anita do corporate presentations?

Yes Anita has a natural presenting style which is most dynamic in a live
environment. Anita has been a guest presenter on multiple cruises, presenting to
large groups of passengers on the benefits of organising and decluttering and
running live demonstrations. Anita has also presented at retirement villages to
audiences needing help and guidance on starting the downsizing process.
